Q&A with Head of Web Development Matt Dignan
Question 1: Hey Matt! What brings you to Park & Battery?
I was at my previous agency for close to four years working with some amazing people, but I could feel it was time for a new challenge and this opportunity presented itself to me one day while browsing LinkedIn, and as I was reading the job description, I felt like it was written just for me!
Question 2: What’s your favorite piece of work you’ve ever made?
This is a tough question, but I think I’d have to go with the Grubhub for Restaurants project. It launched earlier this year. The project itself wasn’t overly glamorous, but the experience and challenge we faced as a team and how we pulled it off is something I’m very proud of. From a development standpoint, I really feel like I helped the client solve some problems by creating some ultra-flexible components.
Question 3: What’s your favorite piece of work you didn’t make (but wish you did)?
This seems to change as the years go on, right now I can’t stop looking at the Apple AirPods Pro page. The combination of amazing creative and imagery and Canvas just blows me away!
Question 4: What do you like most about working at Park & Battery?
I love the “we are all in this together” attitude. I love knowing I can ping Mike and run ideas past him and he’s always ready to listen. Equally important, the emphasis on work/life balance and family first is so nice. At the end of the day, we are here to do amazing work for our clients, and being able to have that added flexibility really allows me to do my best work.
“I love the ‘we are all in this together’ attitude.”
Question 5: What are you looking forward to?
Oh man, so much. I’m always looking forward but trying not to miss the moments as they pass by. When I first started at P&B, Ted said “welcome to the rocket.” I really feel like that is such a powerful statement because we quite literally are driving this thing all the way – and we can take it anywhere we want. I’m looking forward to growing the agency and my team, and learning and growing my skillset every day. I’m pumped to get to do this with all of these amazing people!
Question 6: If we could meet you at any intersection in the world, where are we going and what are we doing?
I’m pretty easygoing, so I’d probably say we are meeting at Balboa Blvd and Oceanfront. We’ll grab some food and drinks at the Baja Lobster, enjoy the sea breeze, maybe bar hop a little from there. Or a little closer to home, we’d meet at 100 South and Main Street in Salt Lake City and head over to my favorite local watering hole, The Beerhive.
